Songham Taekwondo is a great sport to be involved in! I joined our local ATA school about a year ago. I have always wanted to be in a martial art, not only for self-defense, but also for physical fitness and to have a long-term goal. It is great for flexibility and cardio!
Jeremy and I competed in our first tournament on January 27, in Valdosta, GA. We had a great time. It was a wonderful learning experience. We will be attending two other regional tournaments in March and April.
I am currently a green belt and Jeremy is as well. Shelby decided to drop out for a period of time, and now that he is back in, he is a yellow belt.
This sport has brought my family closer together. My mom, Mary, (who is in this picture with me) is 59 years old and she is currently a camo belt. My two nieces are also involved, and my sister Lisa is going to join when her college schedule gets a little better.

Our Boys
These are my two guys! This photo was taken on July 4, 2006 at Cape Canaveral, Florida. We visited Kennedy Space Center and viewed the launch of the space shuttle Discovery.
Shelby (front) is 8 years old (going on 28!). He is in the third grade. Shelby was adopted from Ulyanovsk, Russia, on June 2, 1999.
Jeremy (back) is 6 years old and is currently in kindergartern. Jeremy was adopted from Tomsk, Russia on October 10, 2001.
